My step mother once had a dream that after being pregnant for 9 months she ended up having kittens and was little disappointed after all the effort. But we’ve got actual kittens. The kind that have big adorable eyes. The kind that run and jump and play. The kind that look cute no matter what they do. Even when they poop they’re cute. We’re fostering these wonderful little fuzzies so if you’re looking for a new friend let us know.

I recently purchased a set of FieldNotes. A 1950’s military style journal (accompanied with a pen, pencil & sticker). A lot of love poured into the detailed inside cover & back panel. It reminds me of when I received my Jedi Fan Club pack in the mail. Or being a Cub Scout and getting a new badge. So check um out and get all nerdy with me. Anything that gets you excited to write has to be good.

If you’re not familiar with Scott Hansen let me be the first to introduce you. I’ve been a fan of his design work for the last few years. Drenched in a 70’s style that few have the ability to pull off in a contemporary environment without looking kitsch or cliché. And if that wasn’t enough, he’s also a DJ. Somewhere between Boards of Canada & Ulrich Schnauss, his tunes rests comfortably in the middle of inspiration and dream. Enjoy.

If you haven’t seen Geni.com yet you should check it out. I came across this yesterday and was instantly hooked. A very slick, easy to use web based family tree. As you add family members (and their email address) they’re invited to add to the tree as well. Simple, nice looking and functional. Viva La web!

We were hosts to a garage sale over the weekend. Brenda, a high school girl here in SR, lost her mom to breast cancer. So she’s been busy raising money to battle the disease. The sale was a huge success. She raised close to $800. The buyers were swarming from the wee hours of the morn. My mom gets the trophy for most aggressive sales person. And Ewan gets the most aggressive rookie sales person.

And of course the garage sale tables are a photo enthusiasts dream. Theres something to be said for the collection(s) of oddities & discarded items of our lives. One man’s trash is another man’s canvas.
