i can’t think of a witty title

first on the list is Disneyland. way way too much fun. three days of adventure, fantasy and the future. time to explore every cool little nook and out of the way place. I’ve been going my whole life and I saw stuff I’ve never seen before. Nadia and i have become Disneyland nerds. In a few years we’ll be the family with matching Mickey shirts and fanny packs. the boy loved the rollercoaster in toon town (and the matterhorn!) He was a trooper the whole time. this was our first real "vacation" in a while and a much needed get away. Viva La Walt!

Matt & Amber came up on their way up north. they stayed Friday night and hung out Saturday morning. It’s always a bitter sweet to see friends. We have so much fun together and then we’re left realizing how much we miss everyone. People really are the driving force of life. We’re not meant to be hermits. Now get out there and go hug a friend.

I’ve been doing the CD cover for Ann Lynn’s new EP and I’m really happy with the outcome. Music as good as theirs makes my job easier. The visual expression of something as individualistic as music is sort of like a heart beat. You just stop, listen and then move with it. It’s really cool designing for something that isn’t tangible. You can hear their stuff here and also here.

And this just makes me laugh.

this moment

The other night Nadia and I were lying in bed laughing. It was like a sleep over. Trying not to be too loud made us laugh harder. Burying our faces in our pillows, chucking over stupid little things we kept saying. And just this morning I realized how time has strengthened our lives together. We are like children running through a summer field. We are like the old couple on the porch in the evening. And there’s no where I’d rather be then right there, in that place, at that moment laughing in bed with her.

and that’s a wrap

So the series of comps I’ve been working on are “in the can”. What does this mean for yours truly? No idea. They present these along with the proposal for the new books lines tomorrow. Please keep this in your thoughts and prayers. I’ll keep you posted. And thanks for the encouraging comments.

9/11

what were you doing when you heard/listened/watched about what was happening in NYC on the morning of 9/11 four years ago?

Ewan Soda

I’ve submitted a photo at jones soda. you can vote for it here.

Yesterday we found eucalyptus leaves in Ewan’s pockets. It seemed so silly but so appropriate. Like he knows the secrets to life (but doesn’t know that he knows them) and every action becomes the expression of what is beautiful, priceless and unchanging. Nothing is political or financial. Just leaves that smell good and crumble in your hands.

What’s in your pockets right now?
