spent part of the day yesterday at downtown disney. saw way too much stuff that i wanted to buy for ewan. i ended up getting him the sword and shield i’m yielding in the pics.

went back to the digs (not the dig site but our hotel room) for some much delayed but much required work time. if i could replace my cube for a bed with a lot of pillows and a lap top i’d do it in a heart beat.

feel asleep to the tap tap tap of steven’s keyboard.

found a little out of the way place to sip coffee and read this morning. but left my camera sitting there on the seat next to me! what a moron! i’ve been kicking myself all day. not only is the thing expensive but i use it all the time. but joy of joys, the front desk called and said they found it! this kind of thing never happens. it rests quietly beside me now.

the conference hall opened at 3 so we’ve been peddling out goods all night. you’d be proud of steven and i. i’m actually really stoked we’re here. we’ve been concepting vbsnow for almost 2 years. to see it finally up and running and to see people get excited about it really is a blessing. and who better to talk about the advantages of this thing than us.

Steven and i are in Florida for the Children’s Pastor’s Conference. Here’s a quick recap of happenings thus far.

Got up at the ungodly hour of 4am to catch a flight out of LAX at 7.

Steven saw a pro golfer in the terminal when i was away getting coffee.

Spilt coffee on the guy next to me as i was handing my cup to the stewardess and thus becoming that annoying passenger we all grimace at. Just a few drops but still felt like a schlep the rest of the flight.

Got into the hotel around 4 Orlando time and went perusing around the grounds. The place is really really cool. All Disney’d out and a lot of fun.

Ate Dinner (or lunch according to left coast time) and then went and impressed the locals with our mad work out skills over at the resort gym.

After pumping some serious iron we headed back to the room to get some work done. I passed out promptly at 11 for one of the best nights sleep of my life. Steven on the other hand thought it best to work on le tigre (his track team) brochure far into the night and get as little sleep as possible.

Ewan is still kicking the binky. Can’t sleep, Won’t eat. This has got to be worse than coming down off Crack. But finally took his first nap in a week today!

Going to Orlando next week for a Children’s Pastor’s Conference. If you could drop everything right now and go somewhere for a week where would you go?

Why is it that when people play their music loud it’s never good music? (i know, this is totally subjective) But why not bump a little Dylan, Death Cab or even The Beatles? Now i’m down for the Hippity-Hop every now and then but come on! Is that all they got? BOOM…BA BOOM…BA BOOM BOOM.

Could Lost be the best TV show ever?

I was promoted to dept. supervisor. Very exciting. I get a laptop, blackberry (a cell phone the size of my head) and all the respect and majesty that comes with a prestigious title. (insert a picture of me on the clouds with the rays of the sun shining from behind my head)
Ok. Not really so much respect and majesty. But what I do get is a butt load of responsibility. Managing people, budgets, small projects, big projects, work flow, inter department relations, contracting vendors, etc. not to mention everything the guy before me did that I’m not aware of yet and/or don’t know how to do.
It’s very engaging and to be honest very exciting. I just didn’t realize it was soooo huge.

Ewan is not only kicking the pacifier (or binky to those in the know) but has also begun to randomly sit himself on the toilet and go to the bathroom! It’s as if this once small and helpless baby is becoming a little boy. i both rejoice and lament. Things really do change so fast.

We were at some friend’s house the other night enjoying a makeshift (and I’m sure very illegal) fire pit. Drinking a beer. Talking books, faith and outdoor illegal fire pits. Wonderful. These are the things that make us smile and breath easy. I need more moments like this.

There really is an indefinable superior quality to blogs as opposed to myspace. Nadia and I both have been using myspace with more regularity. But the blog is bit more intament. I’d never share anything too personal on myspace. And as cool as it is to have an extended network of a gazillion people it’s nice to enter the quiet atmosphere of our little blog neighborhood. All that to say I enjoy reading everyone’s posts. Keep it up.
