a study in light (a post about nothing)

There are birds chirping outside. Ewan is in the bathtub making all kinds of fish noises. Nadia is downstairs watching Animal Planet. There was a propane leak near work this afternoon so the authorities suggest we leave the area. Came home and went for a bike ride.

I recently connected with a few friends from high school. My junior year was spent in Salem, OR. And although just a year, the people, environment and experiences have remained very pivotal for me. I was a bit shell shocked to finally get in touch with Eric and Brian after almost 10+ years of absence. And very excited that after the initial “Great to hear from you” we actually had a desire to keep in contact. They’re both in a band Blitzen Trapper and doing very well. They camped out on our couches and carpets this week en route to SF. Another reasons to get our keasters to Portland.

We’ve returned from a quick hiatus to the Inland Empire. One wedding, a trip to Uncle Scotty’s fire station, multiple days in the pool and even a night out to the movies! The only (and biggest) regret is how many people we’re unable to see. No matter how hard we try there are always a heap of loved ones that we miss. But seeing family was wonderful!

A question for the week. With all the obvious risks to health why are people still smoking? No daily benefits (besides odor and cost) and yet everywhere I go people seem to be smoking en mass.
