I’ve always been a fan of well executed opening/closing credits. In no particular order here are a few that I’ve really enjoyed. I know there must be a heaps out there I’m forgetting. be sure to comments with any that are note worthy.

Sherlock Holmes (Won’t let me embed this one)

Technically this is actually an opening sequence. But still a favorite. Designed by MK12

Catch Me If You Can. A modern nod to Saul Bass.

Delicatessen (Won’t let me embed this one)

Casino Royal. To be honest, I really love all the James Bond openers. And not just for the boobies It was actually good to see them get away from that with the reinterpretation of the franchise. Great music and and incredible use of color & shape.

A Series of Unfortunate Events. One of my all time favorites.

p.s. A minor annoyance that you can’t customize the size of embedded you tube videos.

It’s been ages since I’ve approached the blogsphere with any sort of diligence. Seems like the less I read the less I write. The recent upswing in the “neighborhood” has me thinking about it. I’ve often criticize the endeavor as slightly too exhibitionist or showy. But after reading a post from a loved I’m always glad it’s there. And why wouldn’t I be? These are people I care for. The random thoughts, the ideas, the rants. All of it is beautiful. With the geographical distance between most of us this is the closest it gets to a black & mild on the porch.

Another struggle I have is the presentation. I seems to take me forever to craft a post. With family, life and work all on the front burners, giving any amount of effort feels impossible. Let alone “crafty” effort. So I’m going to try write more conscious flow. We’ll see how it goes as I get all Kerouac in this shiznit.

But first, is there anybody even out there with any desire to dust off the Talbot blog? Sound off in the comments and let’s see where this party goes?

FUNDS RAISED SO FAR: $155.00!

Friends & Family,
I hope this email finds you well.

Last year I had the opportunity to participate in Sonoma County’s inaugural Levi Leipheimer King Ridge Fondo. This is a BIG cycling event aimed at raising money for a number of local causes. Both the Fondo as well as the Tour of California have given a major boost to local business with the attention & tourism they bring to the area.

Last year there were 3,500 people riding in the event. This year they’re expecting 6,000!

Not only do we get to challenge our cycling prowess but our fund-raising skills as well. This is where you come in!

You can help me raise funds right there from the comfort of your computer chair.
http://www.levisgranfondo.com/myfund/?user=jtalbot

Every dollar helps!

Thanks for a being a part of this with me.
